World Malaria Day 2026 Social Media Toolkit

Advocates can use World Malaria Day to raise awareness and encourage CCM members and national decision-makers to prioritize TB programs in GC8. As World Malaria Day falls on Saturday 25 April this year, we are asking you to post across your social channels from Thursday 23 April through to Thursday 30 April so that together we create maximum impact across the full campaign window.

Did you know? In the fight against malaria, being predictable is our biggest weakness. The malaria parasite is a fast learner. When we use the same “Gold Standard” treatment everywhere for years, the parasite eventually figures out how to survive it. This is exactly how drug resistance takes hold, threatening the progress we’ve made over the last two decades.

By implementing Multiple First Line Therapies (MFT), we can stay one step ahead.

How MFT works:
Diversification: Using different drug combinations, like Artemisinin paired with Amodiaquine, in different regions or at different times.

Breaking the Pattern: By rotating these treatments, we “confuse” the parasite. Before it can develop resistance to one combination, we’ve already pivoted to another.

Protecting the Cure: This strategy ensures our current medicines remain effective while we work on the next generation of cures. Innovation isn’t just about finding new drugs it’s about using the ones we have more intelligently.
