Takaléa Gisèle Estelle Anastasie identifies herself as a female leader in Ivorian civil society who has been committed for over two decades to strengthening health systems, advocacy, and promoting community engagement in the fight against HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, and other pandemics.
Throughout her journey, she has met women who had to stop their treatment because the medications were out of stock. She has talked with tuberculosis survivors who continued to suffer from rejection and stigma. She has also seen families lose their newborns to malaria and lose trust in the health system. These experiences have deeply shaped her commitment.
Holder of a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Sociology, President of the Collective of Organizations Fighting Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases in Côte d'Ivoire (COLTMR-CI), she played a key role in supporting the creation of the TB People Côte d'Ivoire network, helping to strengthen the leadership of people affected by tuberculosis. In 2026, she became President of the Platform of Networks and Umbrella Organizations for the Fight Against AIDS and Other Pandemics in Côte d'Ivoire, where she works to boost community involvement in health policies and carries out advocacy for better access to care and treatment.
Ms. Takaléa is a full member of the Country Coordinating Mechanism of Côte d'Ivoire (CCM-CI), where she participates in governance and discussions related to Global Fund grants. Since 2021, she has been the Focal Point for the Global Fund Learning Hub, where she monitors Global Fund grants, and since 2023, she has been the Focal Point for GFAN Africa Côte d'Ivoire, mobilizing civil society, parliamentarians, and the private sector for sustainable health funding.
Since 2024, she has been coordinating the Community Engagement Project (CE-SI) in Côte d'Ivoire to promote community monitoring, advocacy, and the valuation of community interventions. She also became a member of the Steering Committee of CS4ME (Civil Society For Malaria Elimination), where she supports civil society organizations in the fight against malaria and other pandemics.
Today, as a member of the GFAN Speakers Bureau, Ms. Takaléa hopes to use her expertise in governance, advocacy, and community mobilization to promote sustainable health financing, community leadership, and equitable access to quality health services.
