I'm Doan Thanh Tung, a Vietnamese community leader and public health advocate with more than 13 years of experience advancing HIV, TB, health equity, gender equality, youth leadership, and key population responses from local implementation to regional and global advocacy. I currently serve as Executive Director of Lighthouse Social Enterprise in Viet Nam, Senior Advisor at Global network of Young People living with HIV (Y+ Global) and as an official community representative on the Viet Nam Country Coordinating Mechanism.
My work is grounded in lived experience and in the belief that communities must be at the centre of health responses. Through Lighthouse, Y+ Global and my regional and global advocacy, I have worked to expand access to community-led HIV, TB, PrEP, gender equality, mental health, harm reduction, chemsex, digital health, and rights-based services for young people, LGBTQI+ communities, people living with HIV, and other key populations.
I care deeply about the Global Fund because I have seen how its investments can save lives, build trust, and strengthen community leadership. As part of the GFAN Speakers Bureau, I hope to bring an Asian community voice that connects lived realities, country-level CCM experience, and global advocacy for a fully funded, community-centred Global Fund.
