Anudari Anar (Anuka) is a young queer activist and the Executive Director of Youth LEAD Mongolia, a youth-led organization working at the intersections of HIV, LGBTQI+ rights, mental health, and meaningful youth participation in Mongolia.
Anuka began engaging in youth and community activism through Youth LEAD Mongolia in 2018 and has since worked to strengthen the leadership and participation of young people, particularly young key populations and LGBTQI+ youth, in the decisions and systems that affect their lives. Their work spans HIV advocacy, community-led programming, psychosocial support, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the creation of safer and more inclusive spaces for young people.
A central part of Anuka’s advocacy is ensuring that young key populations are not only recognized as beneficiaries of HIV programmes, but are meaningfully involved in shaping policies, services, funding priorities, and accountability mechanisms. In Mongolia, they have contributed to youth-led HIV advocacy and efforts to strengthen community participation, while connecting these experiences with regional and global conversations around HIV financing and the Global Fund.
Beyond HIV advocacy, Anuka works across LGBTQI+ human rights, feminist and LBQ+ organizing, mental health, and community movement-building. They are particularly interested in how these movements intersect, and in making global health and human rights spaces more accessible to young people whose experiences are often underrepresented.
As a GFAN Speaker, Anuka hopes to bring perspectives from Mongolia and young key populations into global advocacy, while learning from and building solidarity with communities and advocates across different regions.
