Adinas Chirwa

Reverend Adinas Chirwa is a minister in the Reformed Church of Zambia and a dedicated member of FLAME (Faith Leader Advocacy for Malaria Elimination). She believes her life’s work is driven by a deep-rooted passion for serving people, both spiritually and practically. She believes that faith and action must go hand in hand, and faith leaders hold a vital responsibility to promote health, justice, and hope within communities.

Her commitment to the fight against malaria is intensely personal. She has experienced the devastating, heartbreaking loss of both her aunt and her unborn baby to severe malaria. That trauma continues to fuel her advocacy. Witnessing firsthand the impact of a disease that is entirely preventable only strengthened her resolve. She is determined to work toward a future where no family has to endure the pain of losing a loved one to this condition.

Through her ministry and her work with FLAME, she has supported initiatives focused on malaria awareness, prevention, and treatment. She makes it a priority to encourage her community to confront misinformation. She believes that It is crucial to empower communities with accurate, life-saving information, amplify the voices of those most affected by the disease in most cases the rural population in my country is heavily affected, and foster strong collaboration between faith communities, civil society, and health partners and everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy, dignified life with access to life saving interventions.

Through the Speakers Bureau she looks forward to contribute meaningfully to this global movement, which is driven by compassion, equity, justice, and our shared, unshakable belief that no one should die from preventable and treatable diseases like malaria. Together, we can make this vision a reality.
