Introducing Rachel and Marie Solange

We are very pleased to announce that this year we have introduced two new Francophone Speakers to our Speakers Bureau, Marie Solange Ngoueko from Cameroon and Rachel Boyindjy from Togo.

Marie Solange Ngoueko

Marie Solange Ngoueko

Marie Solange is a mother of seven children and lives with her family in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon. When she first moved to Yaoundé, all members of her household averaged three episodes of malaria each year and had no long lasting insecticidal nets. Marie Solange has been working for over eight years in community development with a focus on managing and coordinating integrated malaria projects at the international, national and community levels. She is now Executive Director of the Public Health International Consulting Center (PHICC) which is a Cameroonian civil society organization that supports her ministry in the fight against Malaria, Tuberculosis and HIV. 

While Marie Solange was deputy coordinator of malaria control, she was directly involved in drafting the proposal to be submitted to the Global Fund. The organization in which she worked was awarded the grant as a sub-recipient.

Rachel Boyindjy

Rachel Boyindjy

A trained sociologist, Rachel has been working at the NGO Human Dimension as Executive Director for 11 years. This community-based NGO works on health issues including the fight against HIV-AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and sexual reproductive health.  They work with the Global Fund and other developing partners on their programs.  Rachel also coordinated the framework of the 8th Round of the Global Fund in Togo for the project “Strengthening and extension of prevention services and comprehensive care for people living with HIV in the context of universal access to Togo.”  This program targets Apprentices, Sex Workers and Road Workers.
